Full Moon Ceremonies

OK, I thought that I would give a general discription/outline for these ceremonies and see what you all think.

We would have these on the night* closest to the full moon. *can be changed to whatever night works best for the group.

General outline for the ceremony would be:

  1. Raising power: Drum circle, Singing bowls, Chanting, Dancing.
  2. Grounding and Centering: Meditation, or Visualization.
  3. Healing work: Healling for anyone we know that needs it.
  4. Other Magic workings: Candle Magics, Tarot Readings, Medicine Cards, Spells.
  5. Unwinding: Eating or Drinking, Thanking the Gods, Meditations, Conversation.

These would basicly be a way to get together and 'borrow' each other's energies for spell workings for whatever we need or to group together to help someone.

So, What I need to know from you:

  1. Are you interested in doing these?
  2. What would you like to get out of a ceremony like this?
  3. Do you have sugestions for something I may have forgotten?

Thanks So Much!

  • This is a very nice idea. You have plenty of ideas here and I wouldn't expect to get through all of these activities in one meeting. One custom I enjoyed in the past is called the Talking Cup. If you do cakes & ale, you can pass the cup a second time and each person holding the cup has a chance to speak (or not, if they choose)--it can be about the ritual or a personal concern or what have you. It's a bit like the UU Joys and Concerns.

  • Thank you for your reply, Karen. I would not want to do all of those activities in one ceremony! Way too exhausting! I would probably pick one from each category and plan the ceremony off of that.

I do like the Talking Cup, we could definitely incorporate that into the cakes and ale part!
